Height: 5-1 Lady Gaga has quickly become one of the biggest names in music since her debut album in 2008. Born in New York City, her real name is Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta. She made up the name Lady Gaga from the Queen song Radio Gaga. Her debut album The Fame in 2008 reached No. 2 on the Billboard charts in the U.S. with hits Just Dance, Love Game, Poker Face and Paparazzi. Gaga released a deluxe album in 2009 titled Fame Monster with eight new songs including Bad Romance, Telephone and Alejandro. She's sold over 13 million albums and 51 million singles to date. Billboard named her Artist of the Year for 2010. She's also won five Grammy Awards including Best Pop Vocal Album and Best Female Pop Performance in 2011. Known for her outrageous outfits and flashy performances, she once wore a dress made entirely of raw meat at the 2010 MTV Music Awards. The dress is now on display at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland. Her latest album Born This Way was released in May 2011. The album hit No. 1 -- aided by an Amazon.com promotion offering downloads for 99 cents. Gaga is currently dating actor Taylor Kinney. |
